Every figure links to its source document, page and verification date. You can export the dataset as CSV or JSON, and use the interface in English or Amharic.

Questions? Answers.

1. Which bank has the highest savings interest rate in Ethiopia?

It changes, so check the live comparison. Since the National Bank of Ethiopia abolished the 7% minimum savings rate in December 2025, deposit rates can differ widely. 360 Data’s Save comparison shows what each provider’s published rate pays in birr, after the 5% withholding tax, for your amount and period. In the 24 September 2026 snapshot, ETB 50,000 saved for 12 months earned between ETB 3,325 and ETB 7,125 across 11 priceable offers.
On 360 Data’s rankings and banking sector pages, which list Ethiopian banks by audited net profit, revenue and total assets, with each figure linked to the annual report it came from. For example, Awash Bank’s net profit for 2017EC (2024/25) was ETB 18.71 billion, up 115.6%. Each bank is shown for its latest published fiscal year, and years that are not yet disclosed are marked as missing, never estimated.
360 Data’s Everyday fees comparison shows transfer, ATM withdrawal, wallet, payment and agent cash-out fees in birr for the amount you enter, plus a monthly total for regular use. In the 24 September 2026 snapshot, a ETB 5,000 transfer to another bank cost ETB 20 to ETB 25 among priceable offers. Prices quoted excluding VAT are flagged, and a provider whose tariff cannot be priced is explained, never shown as free.
Usually more than the daily or monthly rate suggests. 360 Data turns published digital-loan rates into a birr charge and an annualised cost (APR) illustration, and flags anything above 100% a year. In the 24 September 2026 snapshot, borrowing ETB 10,000 for 30 days cost between ETB 375 and ETB 2,850 in charges across eight priceable offers. Interest-free financing is shown as principal plus markup.
The ESX opened on 10 January 2025 under the Ethiopian Capital Market Authority, with Wegagen Bank as its first listing. Banks including Gadaa Bank, Awash Bank and Abay Bank followed, and Ethio Telecom listed in May 2026 as the first non-financial company. 360 Data’s ESX-listed comparison group and ESX explainer show listed institutions with audited financials and trends. Check esx.et for the current official list.
360 Data’s strong, stable or watch health indicator is rule-based and uses published thresholds, not AI judgement. For banks, the versioned rule set uses the National Bank of Ethiopia’s 8% minimum capital adequacy ratio as the floor, treats 15% or more as a strong cushion, and moves a bank towards watch if its NPL ratio exceeds 10% or its profit declines. Plain-language explainers cover NBE supervision, capital adequacy, NPLs and liquidity.
Only from public documents: audited annual reports, financial statements, AGM notices, prospectuses, published tariffs and government budgets. Every figure carries a citation to the document, page and date it was last verified, and is labelled high or medium confidence depending on whether it comes from audited statements. Nothing is estimated, and missing values show as Not disclosed. AI agents help extract data at build time, and the deployed site is static. It is not investment advice.
Yes. 360 Data is an example of what 360Ground builds: document intelligence, data analytics and public-sector transparency platforms. If your bank, regulator or agency needs its own disclosure portal, benchmarking dashboard, comparison tool or data platform, our team can design, build and maintain it. We also built the INSA & ESS National Statistics Data Bank and upgraded Ethiopia’s National Open Data Exchange. Talk to us about your data and goals.
