Case Studies

Every project is a journey, and we measure success by the results our clients achieve. From MVPs that disrupt industries to enterprise solutions that scale globally, these stories show how we transform ideas into market-leading solutions.

Questions? Answers.

1. How much does it cost to develop a mobile banking app in Ethiopia?

Cost depends on scope more than on the number of screens. The main drivers are the channels you need (iOS, Android, web), the services you launch with, core-banking and switch integration, security testing, languages and the support level after go-live. Because we start from our own Mobile & Digital Banking Suite rather than a blank page, much of the budget goes to configuration, integration and branding. After a short discovery session we give a fixed-scope estimate, split into a launch release and later phases.
It depends on whether you need a redesign, a rebuild of an existing app or a new launch, and on how quickly your core-banking interfaces and test environments are ready. We work in phases: discovery and UX, build and integration, security testing, then a pilot before store release. Launching a focused first release and adding services in later sprints puts the app in customers’ hands sooner. We confirm a dated plan once we have reviewed your core system and approval steps.
360Ground re-engineered Abay Bank’s mobile banking app. The work included a full UI/UX overhaul in Amharic and English, biometric login with fingerprint and Face ID, transfer PIN validation moved to the back end, screenshot and screen-recording blocking, and OTP checks only when needed, such as on a first login or a new device. We also fixed stability issues and built a Fuel Sales & Station Management System with apps for attendants and customers. The full story is in our Abay Bank case study.
Yes. Integration is part of every project. We build a secure API and middleware layer between the app and your core banking system, so the app never talks to the core directly. The same layer connects to the national payment switch, card systems, SMS and OTP gateways and wallets through the interfaces your bank already uses or is authorised to use. We document every interface and test it end to end with your IT team before go-live.
The licence and regulatory approval sit with the bank, and National Bank of Ethiopia directives set the rules for mobile banking, payment instruments, customer protection and risk management. In practice that means strong customer authentication, transaction limits, full audit trails, secure data handling and incident reporting. Customer data is also covered by the Personal Data Protection Proclamation No. 1321/2024. We build these controls into the app and back office and give your compliance team the documentation it needs.
Security is designed in from the start, not added at the end. Our builds use biometric login, device binding with OTP on new devices, and server-side checks for sensitive steps such as PIN validation, so they cannot be bypassed on the phone. Traffic is encrypted, screenshots and screen recording are blocked, and every action is logged for audit. We support your bank’s penetration testing and fix every finding before the app is released to customers.
With 360Ground you get the strengths of both. Our Mobile & Digital Banking Suite is a product we own and extend, so proven parts such as login, transfers, payments, security and the admin portal are ready from day one. We then brand, configure and extend it around your products, core system and customer journeys. This is faster and lower-risk than a build from scratch, and it gives you more control over features and roadmap than a generic white-label app.
