History

Founded in January 1959 by Mr. Y.D. Lappine in Addis Ababa with a capital of 200,000 birr, MOENCO began as a small garage. In 1968, it secured the Toyota franchise for Ethiopia when Inchcape PLC became a major shareholder, injecting significant capital. Over the decades, MOENCO expanded its portfolio to represent over 20 automotive brands and established a nationwide presence with multiple branches and sub-dealers.
