History

The ATI was established in 2010 as the Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA) under the Ministry of Agriculture. Its mission was to catalyze the sustainable development of agricultural value chains and markets by promoting effective practices and approaches to address systemic issues in Ethiopia’s agriculture sector . In 2023, the agency was rebranded as the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Institute (ATI) to reflect its expanded mandate and strategic focus on driving the rapid growth and transformation of Ethiopia’s agriculture sector .
